Kabbalah and Knowledge Transfer
The EAJS conference “Kabbalah and Knowledge Transfer in the Early Modern World” aimed to recognise and evaluate the role played by kabbalistic literatures, in a variety of written formats, in the transfer of knowledge in the early modern world. The conference, which was held in Berlin on 9 and 10 July 2019, was funded by the European Association of Jewish Studies. This collaboration between the University of Hamburg, the Freie Universität Berlin, and the Selma Stern Zentrum für Jüdische Studien Berlin-Brandenburg was the fruit of a joint effort by the only two Emmy Noether groups in Jewish studies. The event was initiated and organised by Agata Paluch and Patrick B. Koch. For the full programme, click here.
